If you’ve been keeping up with the news lately at Granite Falls High School, then you’d already know by now that our girls basketball team had an outstanding season this year! Pulling through even during the toughest of times, and with a conference record of 16-0, every one of these girls’ performances was amazing and helped contribute to how far they went. These ladies were able to take their successful season, and make it memorable for themselves, their coaches, and the school in its entirety.
Led by their team captains Ruby McGarr, Rylinn Buchholz, and Reghan Ferguson, as well as coaches Anna McGarr and Mark Neuman, this past season will be remembered for years to come. We’d like to congratulate teacher and head coach Anna McGarr, who won coach of the year from the Emerald Sound Conference for her hard work and efforts throughout this past season.
Thanks to these talented young athletes, our school was given the ability to host multiple play off games on our home court for the first time in years! Dominating in many playoff games, these girls were able to extend their season all the way up til February 15th, which sadly ended up being their last game after an extremely close game of 40 to 48 against the Overlake Owls. Ending their seasons with an overall record 21-4, we are beyond proud of our girls’ basketball team! A special congratulations to Senior Captain Reghan Ferguson for winning MVP from the Emerald Sound for her second year in a row, and congratulations to Junior Addison Haverfield for winning an Honors All Conference award from Emerald Sound! Great job this past season to all players!
