Our Homecoming dance this year was a little later than usual—but that didn’t make it any less fun!
Homecoming was, overall, a good time to find and hang out with your special someone in the crowd, and it proved to be quite a lovely night! Except for the music. The music was a little too remixy for my liking, and many of my friends didn’t even know most of the songs. The DJ might’ve even played a Kanye West song (which is an absurd thing to do because West has self-identified as a Nazi). Perhaps next year the school will consider letting students have a say in the music to avoid disappointment (or maybe we just need to expand our musical tastes).
There were not a lot of food and drink options. The only edible items there were lemonade (of various colors), water, and cookies (and people, too, technically, but cannibalism is illegal, so I wouldn’t recommend it). But at least the sweet treats were freshly warm, and served by a surprise guest, Mr. Hall!
The decorations reminded me of a city of stars or even a planetarium with how shiny everything was! It was very clear how much work and effort were put into this event. And, of course, we’d like to give a special thanks to all of the leadership students and staff members who helped make this dance possible—you could start a fire with how much passion and thought were put into the dance!
For a final score, I’d rate the homecoming dance RG/10 (“RG” stands for Ryan Gosling). The only way it could’ve been better was if it were Fortnite themed! (That was a joke. Please don’t slash my tires!)
