Greetings! Isn’t it just a joyous day, where I am back into my writing career. Now, basic introductions out of the way, I am here to relay unto you the wonders of Prom… the night of awkward social interactions.
For some starter context, this year’s Prom was hosted on May 10th, and held between 8 PM to 11 PM. The theme was “In Full Bloom,” and took place at the Thomas Family Farms in Snohomish. Speaking of, some gratitude for Thomas Family Farms would be very fitting here, so, thank you to Thomas Family Farms for lending your property for a grand prom for 2025!
Where to begin? Ahh, yes, the beginning. To start, I first noticed upon entering the parking lot, the typical “farm smell”. Faint it was, yes, but noticeable, and not to mention the parking lot, or lack thereof. The parking lot did not have any parking lines that could easily be seen, thus creating mild confusion. Although, the surrounding location was rather stunning, the sun was there, in your face, splotching the sky in gorgeous reds, oranges, and yellows.
The site for prom filled quickly between 7:30-7:45, with people arriving between these times. Seeing everyone’s outfits was quite a joy, some outfits- absolutely stunning, in which I silently commend, others… Well, simplicity is a fashion… I guess.
At the beginning of prom, there was quite the line. As we entered the building, we were given a choice to vote for Prom Queen and King (in which I relinquished my votes to a friend). Shortly after, the music started… it was… very loud (not the type of volume to gossip in), and the songs were alright as music goes.
One of the additions- the snack bar, was the wonderful work from Mrs. Vento’s culinary classes. The snacks were tasty- the brownies- good, the snickerdoodle cookies? Even better! There was quite a diverse selection of drinks as well, Shirley Temples, Roy Rogers’, Water, and a couple other drinks. And as nature shifts seasons, teenagers (myself included) are attracted to the snack aisle.
Another set of “aisles” that people were attracted to, like metal to a magnet, were the photo booths, which were filled with diverse amounts of people, friends enjoying their night in various poses. This was quite a humorous and heartwarming display of human interaction, some even opted for doing whole scenes with their friend group.
Photos and snacks aside, one would expect a night of copious dancing, a night that should have contained copious dancing, there was little until an odd group of people livening the party with sick moves like shaking their arms erratically and without reason other than vibing and making their money well spent. I will admit, shaking one’s arms without reason is quite enjoyable.
Though, as the night progressed, the party… ahem Prom turned into a great gossip source, with people taking seats outside, having a wonderful time under the stars… or roof. But dialogue proved really enriching, though, not relevant to this report… or review, however you seek to see it. My biggest annoyance from the party, however, was the lights… every time I would stroll into the centre room/dancing area, a light would give me a lovely view into the realm of the divine.
Despite my nagging and criticism, the whole affair was fun, friends are always a delight, them and their stories, gossip, equal judgement of others, and so on. I would consider the Prom of 2025 very enjoyable and entertaining. But, please, refrain from my point of view spoiling your favourite memories, though, I doubt it, due to the nature of “who is this guy talking about prom,” and “ew, why am I listening to a ginger talk?”.
A big thanks to Mrs. Sullivan for allowing such an event to take place, and a bigger thanks to all the gracious people who accompanied such an event. And thank you for reading my last article of the year, until next time…
Have A Great Summer Vacation!
