Michael Pawlak:
Michael Pawlak (Freshman) hates it when teachers just don’t get to the point. “Failure to get the point across
is failure to efficiently teach. Sometimes I don’t understand because they don’t explain it well” Being lost in class is one of the worst feelings, especially when you’re trying to study. On another note, some things about school are fun and more on the simple side. Michael said: “Friends. I want to you know… graduate… Not be a failure…” Having friends at school is essential, without them it would just be…learning. Ugh. Last but not least: Teachers who
have helped Michael make his way through school: “McCabe. He is very lively, kind, and flexible. He is very forgiving and also funny. And…he likes Lebron.” I don’t know what Lebron has to do with this, but it’s his quote, not mine.
Barrett Klagess:
Barrett Klagess (Freshman) has some issues with school, too.”I have to leave my cat at home…” Honestly, that’s valid. Now, getting to a real problem: “They don’t keep themselves organized. They expect us to keep us organized while
keep losing our assignments.” Adding on to this she also said: “I work for hours on an assignment just for them to lose it. It’s not my fault.” She is not the only student with this problem. Unfortunately, this seems like an ongoing theme.
School isn’t just about classes, though.”I enjoy that I kind of get along with everyone. I am able to make friends pretty easily. And Mr. Kimble. I really like Mr. Kimble. He’s my favorite.” Mr. Kimble seems like a fan favorite! And just imagine school without friends. I don’t even want to picture it. Barrett doesn’t have a teacher that inspires her, but she did share her opinions on teaching methods here at Granite Falls. “None of my teachers are very inspiring, to be honest. But some of my teachers in middle school were much more enthusiastic and happy. I feel like the teachers here are kind of downers. A lot of them have positive mindsets, but they aren’t inspiring for what they teach”
Makayla Herb:
Makayla Herb (Junior) had some attributes not only about teachers, but school in general.
“Teachers are impatient and have unreasonable expectations.” I noticed Barrett had a similar issue. Do you think this is a common problem?
Even though school can be a bumpy ride, there is always something to look

She said:”I love being in the community, making good memories. I also really enjoy getting to meet new people and interview peers.”
Makayla has a teacher in particular she really gets along with. “Mr. Christiansen. He is the art teacher, and mentally we get along. He’s just a silly little little guy. He puts a smile on your face.” Maybe this is an inspiration for you to go tell your favorite teacher just how much they mean to you.
